Whiteman AFB is nestled between several rural communities which offer a variety of shopping and entertainment opportunities. If you are willing to drive a bit further you can experience many larger cities as well as tourist attractions. There is something for everyone within a short distance of the base!  

Knob Noster- Whiteman AFB's nearest neighbor may be small but look closer and you will find a wonderful variety of merchants and services. We will be creating a complete web site for Knob Noster City and the Knob Noster Chamber of Commerce in the near future so please stop back.

Warrensburg- If you require more variety Warrensburg is a terrific choice! This small college town is the home of the nearest Wal-mart, Central Missouri State University, and many fast food restaurants.

Sedalia- Located twenty miles from Whiteman you will find many shopping and eating choices here as well as the annual State Fair!

Windsor - Enjoy a peaceful day in the park or shopping at one of several antique shops.

Clinton- Located 40 minutes from the Base this community, located on Truman Lake, offers a variety of recreational activities and a friendly, family-oriented community.
