		If you plan to further your education the WAFB Education Office is a good
      place to begin your search for a University or college in the area. State Fair Community
      College, Central Missouri State University, Park College, and Webster University also have
      offices inside the Education Office. These colleges offer an abundance of education
      opportunity including classes on base, off base and via correspondence. The Education

		SCHOOL DISTRICTS
		Pre-K Education-
		There is no pre-K program available for
      every student in the Knob Noster area. Those with special needs children will find these
      programs available including a local chapter of Head Start. For information on Head Start

		Knob Noster R-VIII School District-

      	Knob Noster's four schools serve approximately 1900 students in grades K-12
      including all of those living on-base. The district has achieved a AAA rating for the past
      several years, this is the highest rating available. On-base youngsters from kindergarten
      through fourth grade attend Whiteman Elementary School. It is conveniently located across
      from the Youth Center which offers a before and after school program for those interested.
      Kindergarten is a half-day program. To qualify for kindergarten your child must
      turn five by 1 August. A bus is provided for students who live at least a
      mile away from school. There is also a separate elementary school in Knob Noster. Knob
      Noster Elementary has approximately 450 students and serves students from kindergarten
      through fifth grade. Between the schools there are over 60 teachers, creating an excellent
      1 teacher to 22 student ratio. From there your child will advance to Knob Noster Middle
      School which gives nearly 400 students in grades 6-8 an excellent education. A certified
      staff of 29 teachers again provides an excellent 1 teacher to 22 student ratio. Knob
      Noster High School offers 460 students in grades 9 through 12 an outstanding teacher to
      student ratio of 1 to 15. The school allows your child to work within his/her limits by
      offering a basic diploma for vocationally-oriented students and an academic diploma for
      college-bound students. Several extra-curricular activities and a full range of sporting
      events are available. Facilities at KNHS include a 25 acre campus, shops, labs, a stage,
