OK, I am here --- now what?
Arrival at a new Base is an exciting but
worrisome time. Information on your new assignment will be the key to making your first
days at Buckley a pleasant experience. There are numerous resources which offer bits of
information but we will place valuable information in one location so you can easily
navigate through the arrival process.
Getting to Buckley
Arriving at the
Airport
The nearest major airport to
Buckley is Denver International. It is approximately 15 miles away. If no one can pick you
up at the airport you should plan to take a cab or shuttle service. For those who
choose to rent a car at the airport: travel south on Pena Blvd. to Airport Blvd. Go south
on Airport Blvd. to 6th Ave. Turn left on 6th Avenue for less than a mile. The main
gate will be on your right.
Driving Yourself
If you are driving yourself to
Buckley:
FROM I-70: Exit south on Airport Blvd. Go to 6th Ave. Turn
left on 6th Avenue for less than a mile. The main gate will be on your right.
FROM I-25 Northbound: Exit onto I-225. Take the
6th Ave exit. Go east on 6th Ave for about two miles. The main gate will be
just past Buckley road on your right.
FROM I-25 Southbound: Exit onto I-70.
You will have two options:
1) Exit from I-70 to I-225. Take the 6th Ave exit. Go east on 6th Ave for about two
miles. The main gate will be just past Buckley road on your right.
OR
2) Exit south on Airport Blvd. Go to 6th Ave. Turn left on 6th Avenue for less than a mile. The main
gate will be on your right.
In-Processing
New arrivals should report
to their Unit Orderly Room to sign in. After completing Unit
in-processing go to MPF (bldg. T-12) with personnel records.

Billeting
Buckley AFB does not have billeting or TLF
facilities. Those arriving at the base must stay in local area motels. There
are several close but none within walking distance. ITT

Medical
Make sure to visit the TRICARE
Service Center at Fitzsimmons to prevent a lapse in Medical
